Thank you for your interest in working with UNITE HERE.The Technical Specialist (Level 1) is responsible for providing end user support for all computers, peripherals and software used by UNITE HERE staff, locals and affiliates. Assists users to acquire the skills necessary to use UNITE HERE’s strategic resources to further our mission. Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on premises as well as in designated alternate work locations
- Respond to user requests using the internal Support and Training Request System
- Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and annotating methods and resolution in the Support and Training Request System
- Provide ongoing technical support to assigned users of UNITE HERE’s technology
- Build, re-build, or repair and deploy new, reassigned computers and mobile devices
- Follow hardware configuration standards set forth by the Technology Director
- Maintain video conferencing equipment, troubleshooting all discrepancies
- Participate in individual and team training sessions virtually or on-site
- Setup email accounts for users as authorized by appropriate staff as well as reset email passwords for users
- Maintain knowledge of developing technological advancements
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Dedication to social and economic justice
- Relevant education or equivalent work experience
- Servicing end user computer needs in a high-pressured office environment and “in the field”
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn and adopt new technology, programs, and procedures
- Ability to work occasional long or irregular hours when emergency situations arise
- Experience in hybrid / SaaS environment
- Membership software / database experience is a plus
- Knowledge or skills desired: PC & Mac hardware and platform-specific software, Printers, scanners and multifunction machines, Microsoft Office suite, Help Desk software, virus/malware scan & removal tools, Zoom and similar videoconferencing software, Mobile devices, and more
- Bilingual speaker preferred
- Travel as needed
Salary: $58,500 commensurate with experience
