Thank you for your interest in working with UNITE HERE.The Bookkeeper is an integral member of our Finance team, responsible for basic financial record keeping and analysis in accordance with accounting regulations and policies of the International Union. This role will be focused on Accounts Payable, with some work in Accounts Receivable and Receipts. You will provide your expertise as part of a cutting-edge team as we advance our mission on behalf of hospitality workers in the United States and Canada. This is a great role for someone who is entering the accounting world and is looking to learn and grow.

As a Bookkeeper you will work with the AP/AR Supervisors to:
- Work with any or all the following: cash receipts and disbursements, allocations and distributions, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
- Responsible for data entries, account analysis, preparation of schedules, and bank reconciliation.
- Adhere to reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, or annual reports as needed.
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain financial data security by following internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other job responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- College Degree required; Accounting Degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Have good knowledge working with other accounting programs.
- Good communication skills.
Outstanding candidates will also have:
- Commitment to UNITE HERE mission.
- Previous experience with Sage Intacct, Concur, or Expensify
Salary: $60,000 commensurate with experience
