Thank you for your interest in working with UNITE HERE.UNITE HERE Local 7 in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking a Community/Political Organizer to work locally on aggressive and innovative organizing campaigns. The Community/Political Organizer will work with staff organizers, union members and unorganized workers, religious, labor, community and political leaders to build the solidarity necessary to fuel a progressive movement for workers that wins tangible victories. This organizer will be directed by and report to the Campaign Lead who coordinates the overall organizing campaign. (Find UNITE HERE Local 7 on facebook for more information.)
UNITE HERE is a progressive labor union, representing more than 270,000 workers in the hotel, food service, and gaming industries in North America. These industries employ large numbers of women, recent immigrants and people of color.

Job Requirements:
- Commitment to labor unions and the fight for justice and organizing the unorganized
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Willingness to work long hours, nights and weekends as campaign dictates
- Valid driver's license and a car
- Previous experience as an organizer in the labor, student, civil rights, immigrant, LGBT or other community movements
- Previous experience with city/state elections helpful
