Organizing Technical Trainer

Thank you for your interest in working with UNITE HERE.Summary: Assist in the development, facilitation and implementation of training on organizing related programs such as UNITE HERE CRM (Customer Relationship Management)/Broadstripes and other programs or applications utilized internally within the Union. Perform other related functions such as providing technical assistance to local Unions, organizing efforts, and joint labor management projects. Compile information from user feedback to inform the UNITE HERE CRM/ Broadstripes development team.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Confer with the Senior Technical Trainer to determine the priorities and processes for training and all other roles.
- Coordinate training requirements with the needs of UNITE HERE organizers and other staff.
- Maintain and expand teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
- Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
- Monitor trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
- Provide progress reports of employees under guidance during training periods.
- Develop strong relationship with all departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.
- Collect feedback from users in the field and abstract it to inform the Senior Technical Trainer and Broadstripes development team.
- Provide first level of tech support for users via a ticketing system.
- Basic data work, such as cleaning and uploading of excel files to UNITE HERE CRM.
Job Requirement Qualifications:
- Previous training and product experience or one year related training experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Demonstrate proven ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees.
- Must possess strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and proof training materials.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Must possess good presentation and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and be proficient in Excel.
- Willing to travel substantially across the US / Canada.
- Must possess knowledge of UNITE HERE organizing model.
- Bi-lingual Spanish / English preferred.
